About the Author


Dr. Taylor is a seasoned independent corporate director, having served on publicly traded, privately-owned, advisory and non-profit boards. Currently he is the Board Chairman of the National Association of Corporate Directors Pacific Southwest Chapter; Chairman of the Audit & Risk Committee for the Claremont Graduate University Board of Trustees; Vice-Chairman of the Capital Expert’s Innovation Council; Board Member for All Sports Television Network; Advisory Board Member for the Drucker School of Management; and Advisory Board Member for Guided Compass, a work-based learning technology firm.  He has served on over twenty corporate boards in his career. 

 He has been designated as a SEC financial expert having served as the CFO of OBN Holdings, a publicly traded company and chaired of audit/risk committee. Dr. Taylor has been an internationally recognized Environmental Management Expert for thirty years, leading environmental audits in North America, Asia, Africa and Europe.   He was the West Coast Productivity Improvement Consulting Practice Leader Deloitte and a Senior Manager of the manufacturing consulting group at EY. During his 40+ year career, he has provided productivity improvement, financial analysis, environmental management, employee engagement, corporate social responsibility and corporate governance expertise to hundreds of companies as a consultant, trainer, auditor and/or corporate board member.

Dr. Taylor earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from General Motors Institute, an MBA in Finance from Pepperdine University and a PhD in Executive Management from the Drucker Business School at Claremont Graduate University.  He is NACD Directorship Certified and is a Board Leadership Fellow. He also holds the NACD Cybersecurity Certificate and the Global Reporting Initiative’s (GRI) Sustainability Certificate.  He was a registered Environmental Assessor in California (REA 03034); certified Lead EMS Auditor (EARA 1259A) of environmental management systems; and a certified air quality permit processor (D11331) for Southcoast Air Quality Management District in California.  He achieved fellow level status with the Institute of Industrial Engineers (IIE) and the American Production & Inventory Control Society (APICS).  He has authored three books on corporate governance, employee engagement and organizational culture: “The New Breed of Independent Corporate Director”, “Private Sector Praises”, and “Enhancing the Tone-at-the-Bottom”. He is also the co-author of "How to Optimize Work-Based Learning After Covid-19".
